Woodbury County Chair, Matthew Ung calls Taylor's offer "minor gesture"

Jeremy Taylor offered to resign his position as vice-chair of the Woodbury Board of Supervisors. Not to resign his seat, just his vice-chairmanship.
Today Chairman Matthew Ung clarified via email interview:
“Mr. Taylor was only offering to resign from his appointment as Vice-Chair for 2023. Based on that, next Tuesday I will have an agenda item to accept his resignation followed by a motion to appoint another supervisor Vice-Chair for the remainder of 2023. There are only three regular Tuesday meetings remaining in 2023, and I don't plan to be absent for any of them, so it's a minor gesture.”
The meeting last night turned heated. And I have to be honest here, why Taylor thought he wouldn’t face scrutiny from the auditor, his fellow Republican supervisors - 3 who have called on him to resign - and community members is really beyond me. The fourth supervisor, Keith Radig has not made public comment.
County Auditor Pat Gill, a democrat, spoke during the open community concerns portion of the meeting. He authored a resolution to remove Jeremy Taylor from office and asked to enter it into the record. Taylor objected, briefly but was overruled by a 4 - 0 vote of the board, then, Gill read the resolution into the record1:
