Supervisor Matthew Ung told me via email that Jeremy Taylor’s removal from office is a “political question for now, and the county attorney shouldn't be put in that position.” However, Woodbury County Attorney James Loomis, A republican like Taylor and Ung, was elected to be put in exactly this position: acting in service to the people of Woodbury County who elected him to interpret and if necessary enforce Iowa code and law.

Three Woodbury County Supervisors - all Republican - have now called on Jeremy Taylor to resign. Supervisor Daniel Bittinger went further, suggesting to Siouxland Public Radio it is down to the County Attorney, James Loomis to decide if and when he is able - or willing - to remove Mr. Taylor from office.

Taylor has already resigned from the Board - back in 2020 - in this video (from 2020) Taylor resigned his supervisor’s seat - due to voter registration irregularity - and also restated his commitment to running in the Iowa 4th district primary
